There are performances I’ve given that I will never tell you about. Rooms I’ve worked, faces you’d recognise instantly, reactions I’ll carry for the rest of my life, and not one word of it will ever leave me. That isn’t me being coy. It’s the job.
As a VIP magician who regularly performs at celebrity and VVIP events in London and across the UK, the most important trick I do has nothing to do with cards. It’s discretion. And it’s the reason the same clients, and the people around them, keep booking me back.
Why the Best Work Is the Work Nobody Sees
There’s a certain kind of event that never appears on social media. No tagged photos, no behind-the-scenes clips, no name-dropping the morning after. Private parties for public people. Gatherings where the guest list alone would make headlines. Corporate evenings and personal celebrations where the whole point is that what happens in the room stays in the room.
These are some of the most rewarding bookings I take, and by their nature they’re the ones I can say the least about. That’s exactly how it should be. When you hire an entertainer into a private, high-profile space, you’re not just buying a performance. You’re trusting someone with access, with proximity, and with everything they see and hear while they’re there.
Signing an NDA Is the Easy Part
For a lot of these events, a non-disclosure agreement is simply part of the paperwork, and I sign them without a second thought. I’m always happy to work under an NDA, and I understand exactly why they exist.
But here’s the thing I’d want any client to know: the NDA is the floor, not the ceiling. A signature on a document isn’t what keeps a room private. Professionalism does. My discretion doesn’t switch on because a contract tells it to, it’s simply how I operate on every booking, whether there’s paperwork or not. The agreement just puts in writing what I’d be doing anyway.
Discreet from the First Enquiry to Long After the Last Trick
Discretion isn’t only about staying quiet afterwards. It runs through the entire process.
During the booking, I keep enquiries confidential and I don’t discuss one client’s plans with anyone else. I’m comfortable working through security teams, event managers, and personal assistants, and I know how to move through the checks and briefings these events involve without fuss.
At the event, I read the room and respect its boundaries. I know when to step forward and dazzle a group, and just as importantly, when to melt into the background and let the moment belong to the guests. I dress for the occasion, I’m punctual, I’m calm around high-profile guests, and I never treat anyone in the room as a story to tell later.
After the event, that’s the end of it. No posts, no hints, no “you’ll never guess who I performed for last night.” The silence afterwards is part of what you’re paying for.
Why This Matters When You’re Choosing a Magician
If you’re planning a private or high-profile event, you already know that the wrong hire can become a liability. The value of a discreet, experienced performer isn’t just that the magic is good. It’s that you never have to think about them again once they’ve left. No awkward photos surfacing, no loose talk, no risk.
That peace of mind is something I take real pride in, and it’s why so much of my work in this world, from luxury event entertainment and private parties to high-end weddings and corporate evenings, comes through quiet recommendation from people who’ve seen me handle it properly. If you’d like a sense of how I perform in the room, my showreel shows the reaction close-up magic gets, even if the most private rooms will never appear on it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. I’m happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement for any booking that requires one, and I’ll work through your agents, security team, or event managers to get the paperwork sorted before the event. Just as importantly, I treat every booking as confidential whether an NDA is in place or not.
Do you perform at private celebrity and VIP events?
Yes. I regularly perform close-up magic at celebrity, VIP, and VVIP events in London and across the UK, including private parties, luxury celebrations, and corporate evenings. By their nature I don’t discuss who I’ve worked for, which is exactly the point.
Will our event be kept completely confidential?
Completely. Discretion runs through the whole process: confidential enquiries, no discussion of one client with another, no photos or posts, and no mention of your event afterwards. What happens in the room stays in the room.
How do we book you for a high-profile event?
Get in touch through my contact form for a discreet, no-obligation conversation. We can talk through your event, any confidentiality requirements, and how I’d tailor the magic to your guests.
