Close-up magic for weddings, corporate events and private parties across Epsom and the Surrey Downs.
Epsom is best known for the Downs and the racecourse, and that’s genuinely where a good chunk of my Epsom work has come from: several Christmas parties for The Jockey Club inside the Grandstand at Epsom Downs Racecourse. It’s a big, corporate room, a long way from an intimate private party, and it’s taught me that close-up magic holds up at scale as well as it does in someone’s living room.
Beyond the racecourse, most of my Epsom bookings are private parties and smaller corporate events I don’t have a second named venue for yet. Tell me your venue when you enquire and I’ll find out what I need to know beforehand.
Epsom’s corporate calendar leans heavily on hospitality: race days through the year and the Christmas party season inside the racecourse’s function spaces, alongside the usual private parties and family celebrations you’d find in any Surrey town. It’s a bigger mix of corporate and private work than somewhere smaller, and the racecourse connection means I’ve worked rooms considerably larger than most of what I do elsewhere.
It’s one of the further trips I make regularly, crossing south London rather than staying on the outer motorways, so I allow more time than the distance alone would suggest, usually forty minutes to an hour depending on when I set off. Epsom Downs Racecourse has its own large car parks built for race day crowds, so parking there is straightforward. Elsewhere in the town it’s more like any other high street, on-street or a short walk from a public car park.
At a racecourse Christmas party, the gap tends to be early, while a large room is filling up and the first arrivals are stood around before the room’s properly warmed up. At a smaller Epsom private party, it’s the same pattern I see everywhere this size: the stretch after people arrive and before anyone’s settled into the evening.
My bookings run from £450 to £1,200:
| Performance time | Price |
|---|---|
| 45 minutes to 1 hour | £450 – £600 |
| 2 hours | £500 – £900 |
| 4 hours | £800 – £1,200 |
Those bands overlap deliberately. How long you book me for sets the floor, it doesn’t set the price. The date matters more than most people expect, and Saturdays from May to September and the whole of December are the busiest in the calendar.
Epsom carries no travel surcharge. Neither does anywhere else in London, Kent, Surrey or Berkshire.

I am based in Orpington, Greater London, UK, but regularly perform at high-profile events nationwide and internationally - including regularly across Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Most bookings run one to two hours of mixed-and-mingled close-up magic, though I offer flexible packages from a short 45-minute slot up to a full day's entertainment - whatever suits your event.
The Magic Circle is Britain's most respected society for magicians, founded in 1905. It isn't a membership you can simply pay for - every applicant has to pass a formal examination (or submit a thesis) in front of a panel of existing members, demonstrating real skill and knowledge of the craft, before being admitted. I've been a Member since 2016.
No - Epsom is within my regular Surrey coverage area, so there's no travel fee.
Yes - I've worked corporate Christmas parties at The Jockey Club inside Epsom Downs Racecourse's Grandstand, so I'm familiar with the venue.
Yes - three separate Christmas parties at The Jockey Club inside the Grandstand. It is a good example of close-up magic working just as well at a large corporate venue as at an intimate private party.
Also based near or regularly booked in these areas - get in touch even if your event isn't listed here.
