Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14th July 2026
Pete James Magic (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through petejamesmagic.co.uk, why we collect it, how it’s used and stored, and what rights you have over it. If you have any questions, contact us at Pete@petejamesmagic.co.uk.
What Information We Collect
Booking Enquiry Form
When you submit an enquiry through the booking form embedded on this site, we collect the details you provide – typically your name, email address, phone number, and information about your event (date, location, type of event). This is used solely to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote, and arrange your booking. The form is provided by our booking-form provider, Giggio, who processes this submission on our behalf as our data processor; please see Giggio’s own privacy policy for details of how they handle data in transit.
Quick Enquiry Form (In-Person Leads)
For enquiries logged in person (e.g. after a performance), we record the details you give us – name, and depending on what’s enabled, company, event date, location, phone number and email address – so we can follow up with you the next day. This is stored securely in our website’s own database and is not shared with any third party beyond the email delivery described below.
Newsletter / Free Guide Sign-Up
If you sign up to receive a free guide or occasional emails, we collect your email address. We use this only to send the guide you requested and, if you’ve agreed, occasional follow-up emails. You can unsubscribe at any time – see “How to Unsubscribe or Request Deletion” below.
Contacting Us via WhatsApp
If you use the “WhatsApp Pete” button on this site, it opens a chat in WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Any conversation you then have with us over WhatsApp is handled by WhatsApp (owned by Meta) under its own privacy policy, not ours – we simply receive and respond to the message like any other WhatsApp conversation.
Cookies & Analytics (Collected Automatically)
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. Where a cookie isn’t strictly necessary for the site to function, it’s only set once you’ve given consent via the cookie banner. The cookies and third-party services we use are:
- CookieYes – manages the cookie consent banner itself and remembers your cookie preferences. This is strictly necessary and doesn’t require separate consent.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) – helps us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device type) so we can improve it. This only runs if you’ve accepted analytics cookies. Google may process this data outside the UK/EEA under its own safeguards – see Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
- Microsoft Clarity – helps us understand how visitors interact with the site by recording anonymised session information such as mouse movement, scrolling and clicks, and by producing aggregated heatmaps. This only runs if you’ve accepted analytics cookies. Microsoft may process this data outside the UK/EEA under its own safeguards — see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement for details.
- Google Maps – our Contact section embeds a live map so you can find us. Loading the map may set cookies from Google and share your general request data with Google, in line with Google’s own privacy policy.
- YouTube – showreel videos on this site are embedded from YouTube. Playing one may set cookies from Google/YouTube in line with their own privacy policy, separate from ours.
- Giggio – our booking enquiry form is embedded from Giggio and may set its own cookies needed to process your submission.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to booking enquiries and arrange event bookings.
- To send the specific guide or resource you requested.
- To send occasional marketing emails, only where you’ve agreed to receive them.
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it (via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, only with your consent).
- To keep accounting and booking records where a booking is confirmed, as required by law.
Our Lawful Basis for Processing
Responding to a booking enquiry is handled under legitimate interests and, once a booking is confirmed, as steps necessary to perform a contract with you. Sending marketing emails (the newsletter/free guide follow-ups) relies on your consent, which you give when you tick the sign-up checkbox and can withdraw at any time. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) also rely on your consent, given via the cookie banner.
Who We Share Your Data With
We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the site and respond to enquiries, each acting as our data processor or under their own privacy policy:
- Giggio – processes booking enquiry form submissions.
- Google – processes Google Analytics 4, Google Maps and YouTube data.
- Microsoft – processes Microsoft Clarity data.
- WhatsApp (Meta) – processes any conversation you start via the WhatsApp button.
- Our email and hosting providers – process data as needed to deliver emails and keep the website running.
International Data Transfers
Some of the third parties listed above (including Google and Microsoft) may process data outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where this happens, they do so under their own approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent standard contractual clauses – see each provider’s own privacy policy for details.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Enquiry details are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and follow up (typically no more than 24 months if no booking goes ahead). Where a booking is confirmed, related records are kept for 6 years in line with standard UK accounting requirements. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; ask us to delete your data; restrict or object to certain processing; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email us – see “How to Unsubscribe or Request Deletion” below. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
How to Unsubscribe or Request Deletion
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. To unsubscribe, correct your details, or request that we delete the personal data we hold about you, email Pete@petejamesmagic.co.uk and we’ll action your request without undue delay (and in any event within one month, as required by law).
Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
