Learn More about Wedding Magic
A local close-up magician for weddings, corporate events and private parties across Bromley - based just down the road in Orpington.
Most magicians who come up on a Bromley search are driving in from somewhere else. I’m not. I live in Orpington, which is in the London Borough of Bromley, so a booking here isn’t a job I travel to. It’s a job down the road.
That has practical consequences rather than sentimental ones. There’s no travel charge. There’s no early start to beat traffic from the other side of London. And if you’d rather meet before you commit to anything, I can usually do that in person, which a magician driving in from the far side of the city isn’t going to offer.
Bromley Court Hotel is the one I know best, and it’s the venue that comes up most often in enquiries from this part of the borough.
Beyond that, most of my Bromley work is in function rooms, private homes and gardens rather than a short list of named venues. That’s the honest shape of it. Tell me your venue when you enquire and there’s a good chance I already know it, and if I don’t, I’ll look it up properly before the day rather than turning up cold.
The borough is largely residential and family-heavy, and the bookings reflect that. Milestone birthdays and significant anniversaries make up more of my Bromley diary than corporate work does, which is the reverse of somewhere like Canary Wharf.
Garden parties are a genuine Bromley category in a way they aren’t in central London. A lot of houses here have the space for one, and close-up magic suits a garden well because there’s no stage to set up and nothing that stops working when people drift between the lawn and the kitchen.
Weddings here tend to be at hotels and function rooms rather than country estates. If you’re marrying at a barn or a country house further into Kent, the Wedding Magician Kent page is the more relevant one.
Orpington to most of Bromley is a short drive outside rush hour. Bromley town centre is the part worth thinking about: it’s busy, parking is multi-storey rather than on-street, and if your venue is central I’ll factor arrival time in rather than cutting it fine.
None of that costs you anything. Travel within my core area, arriving early, and the time spent working out where to park are all part of the booking rather than line items on an invoice.
At a Bromley wedding it’s almost always the drinks reception, because that’s the stretch where you’re away having photographs taken and your guests are standing in a room half of them don’t know.
At a milestone birthday it’s different. The awkward gap is usually early, in the first half hour while people arrive in ones and twos and nobody’s had enough of a drink to start talking. That’s the part I’d suggest covering, and it’s not what most people instinctively book.
At a garden party, it’s whenever the food is being sorted out.
My bookings run from £450 to £1,200:
| Performance time | Price |
|---|---|
| 45 minutes to 1 hour | £450 – £600 |
| 2 hours | £500 – £900 |
| 4 hours | £800 – £1,200 |
Those bands overlap deliberately. How long you book me for sets the floor, it doesn’t set the price. The date matters more than most people expect, and Saturdays from May to September and the whole of December are the busiest in the calendar.
Bromley carries no travel surcharge. Neither does anywhere else in London, Kent, Surrey or Berkshire.
There’s a full breakdown of what moves a quote up or down on the wedding magician cost page.
Every booking includes:
Travel within my core area. Arriving early to set up. Staying on when things overrun by fifteen minutes. A phone call beforehand to talk it through. None of it appears on an invoice.
If a quote you’ve had elsewhere excludes insurance or travel, you aren’t comparing like with like.
Is there a travel charge to book you in Bromley? No. I live in the borough.
Do you know Bromley Court Hotel? Yes. Tell me your venue when you enquire and I’ll almost certainly know it, or check it out beforehand if I don’t.
Can we meet before booking? Usually, yes, and Bromley is one of the few places where that’s straightforward for me. It isn’t necessary, but if it would help you decide, ask.
Do you do children’s parties? My core work is adult weddings, corporate events and celebrations. The close-up material works well for family events with mixed ages, but I’m not a children’s entertainer and I’d rather say so than take a booking I’m the wrong fit for.
Send me your date, venue and rough guest numbers and I’ll come back with a firm price rather than an estimate. No obligation and no follow-up sequence.

I am based in Orpington, Greater London, UK, but regularly perform at high-profile events nationwide and internationally - including regularly across Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Most bookings run one to two hours of mixed-and-mingled close-up magic, though I offer flexible packages from a short 45-minute slot up to a full day's entertainment - whatever suits your event.
The Magic Circle is Britain's most respected society for magicians, founded in 1905. It isn't a membership you can simply pay for - every applicant has to pass a formal examination (or submit a thesis) in front of a panel of existing members, demonstrating real skill and knowledge of the craft, before being admitted. I've been a Member since 2016.
